Coach Tom
Derouin retired from Moline High School in
2004 after thirty-seven years as Head Boys
Tennis Coach and fifteen years as Head Girls
Tennis Coach coach. His teams won 589
matches. He also led Moline High School to a
state championship in 1993. Six Moline
students have won IHSA state championships
under Tom’s guidance. He has been inducted
to the Hall of Fame for Illinois High
Schools and was honored twice as Illinois
High School Coach of the Year. He is hoping
to build the tennis program at Short Hills
back to what it was in the early 90’s.
